Fuel consumption meter MD-K3 type

Meter MD-K3 type is designed for precise measurement of fuel consumption by diesel engine of ST44 and SM48 locomotive.

Device has additional function – there is possibility cutting off the measuring set in case of fuel set failure. It consists of measuring set, valves and heat exchanger (in order). All parts are closed in tin housing.

Fuel is sucked in from fuel tank and flows to measuring set. There is divided on two directions. Part of fuel flows by flowmeter and degasifer to collector or injection pump. Rest of fuel is reversed to fuel tank.

Fuel which wasn’t consume goes to degasifer and nest to engine.

Fuel cycle is forced by circulation pump.

Device`s way of acting

The measurement of flow rate is realized by volume flowmeters.
The result of measurement can be read directly on mechanical counter or remotely with pulser using.
In this case meter cooperates with various electronic systems and the result can be sent e.g. as printout.
Electronic system registers all probes of interference. Mechanical seals protected the fuel set.
